Hibiscus/Sembaruthi flower Tea

I just went to market to get some Indian spices from one of the Spanish super market. I have seen a small packet which contains Hibiscus flower looks like one of the spice. I am not sure what is mean Hibiscus flower. So I checked in the google and came to know that it is freely available flower in Indian Villages called Sembaruthi in Tamil. Demand for this flower is more in the super market because of its medicinal benefits. I wrote the benefits in another post. Lets see how to make tea using this Hibiscus flower.

Ingredients:

Hibiscus flower - 4 Petel
Palm jaggery - 1 tsp
Cardamon powder - 1 pinch
Water - 1 cup

Steps:

Heat water in a pan. Once water become hot , add flower petals. I used the dry hibiscus flower available in the market. You can use fresh as well.

Boil for 4 minutes. The color will turn into dark pink color. Add cardamon powder. Boil another 1 minute.
Add the jaggery now and melt down. Filter the boiled hibiscus water.
Now the hibiscus tea is ready to serve. Really it will give some refreshment.
